Matthew Colaizzo was born in 1983 and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He received a BFA from Tyler School of Art, and a MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
He specializes in woodblock printing inspired mostly from the landscapes of the coal region in Pennsylvania.
His work has been shown in group exhibitions at The State Museum of Pennsylvania, and The International Print Center New York. His works are in the permanent collections of the Luzerne County Historical Society in Wilkes-Barre, Penna., and the Huber Breaker Preservation Society in Ashley, Penna. He has also been part of the Signal Fire Outpost Residency in Mt. Hood National Forest in Oregon.
Colaizzo currently resides and works in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
